Most woman-to-woman conversations are about men, both based on the central plot of Preston and Amanda's fated relationship (Amanda talks to the Girlfriends about Mike Dexter; Amanda talks to Earth Girl about Preston) and the larger context of a horny grad party (Ready To Have Sex Girl talks to her friend about hooking up post-breakup; the Groupies talk about hooking up with William).
Most non-romantic conversations happen between men (the band breaking up, William on "God's salt," the X-Philes' chatting), in mixed-gender groups (messing with the exchange student), or between a man and a woman (Denise and Kenny's conflict, Preston and the Angel's musings about life).
The film would have just barely technically passed thanks to a few small female interactions, but the vast majority of the ensemble cast (male AND female) are intentionally and comedically not named. For instance: Melissa Joan Hart's character talks to Denise about signing her yearbook, but she is only credited as Yearbook Girl; the three Jocks' three Girlfriends talk to each other about Amanda, but they are only credited as Girlfriend 1, 2, and 3; a girl asks Denise if she was in her language lab, but she is only credited as Language Lab Girl.
