A very nice little thriller (directed by the shamefully under-rated Muriel Box) about a robbery that goes fatally wrong, leaving the manager of a local cinema dead.
The film unfolds in real time, and most of the characters are women. The two (male) robbers are accidentally seen by a (female) movie-goer, who is then knocked down by a bus when she tries to get away from them. The bulk of the action takes place in a hospital ward and centres around the nursing staff and other patients, as the two robbers try to get to the unconscious witness before she can recover enough to identify them.
Passes the Bechdel Test with no trouble at all. All the characters (male and female) are well written and fleshed out, with real personalities.
A refreshing reminder that crime thrillers don't have to be all about men.
