When there is a woman, there’s only one in each scene. This movie is dominanted by white males.

Justin disagreed with the rating and said:
1. 4 named women
2. 2 of them talk to each other
3. We don't know what they talk about, but we can assume it's about a man

Jules (Michelle Monaghan) does whisper something to Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson) at the end of the movie - so one does talk to the other... we just don't know what about.

In terms of main characters, there's 6 men and 4 women, so it's not a bad balance

There are, by my count, 4 women who speak about at least one non-boy topic (the plutonium) plus the french female cop who asks characters to stop what they're doing.

The current rating is wrong, there are FOUR named women in this. SPOILER ALERT Ilsa and Julia talk to each other, and we don't know what they talk about (probably Ethan).

More precisely, there are certainly >2 named females: Ilsa, Julia, the White Widow (whose first name is mentioned I think), the CIA boss (ditto), and Ilsa and Julia do co-occur in a couple of late scenes in the field hospital in Kashmir. In the second scene, Julia leaves Ethan Hawke's bedside, and approaches Ilsa as she is leaving the room, suggesting an imminent Bechdel moment... but alas, she merely whispers something inaudible to her, and receives no reply... and that's as close as we get!

Spoiler alert: At the end, Ilsa and Julia cross paths at Ethan's bedside. They have a whispered conversation you can't hear but it is obvious they are talking about Ethan. I think this movie was trolling Bechdel testers or something.

How does Hollywood still produce films that fail this test so miserably!
Nota : showing us 2 women whispering does not meet the second criteria, it’s just telling us that when women do talk to each other, it’s just not worth hearing....

When I saw the women whispering, my immediate thought was that it only serves the purpose of bettering the outcome of the Bechdel Test. How sad that this movie fails so miserably.
