The movie shows domestic violence and the mother of the family returning to her abusive husband, who both used violence on her and her children. She does not seek any help nor does she leave him.
Her daughter is only a side character even though she would have had a big potential.
There are two other white women, who are only in the movie to add love interests to the plot and are therefore only seen as objects.
