The majority of the cast is women: Lena, Ventress, Anya, Josie and Cass, and they all talk about their mission and their surroundings constantly. A conversation that clearly passes is the exchange between Lena and Josie regarding the nature of the Shimmer.

Yep. It's a clear pass for this film. It's a shame that the film is so divisive because this ticks all 3 boxes multiple times. It's refreshing to see an all-female team head up the mission and they deal with discussing personal issues such as illness and self-harm. I'm still looking forward to seeing a film that features women talking crap about things like cars, drink and working out in a normal and natural way. This is a good (albeitpretentious step)towards it.

Not only does this movie pass the Bechdel test.
It is also the only movie with a big budget that I know that fails the anti-Bechdel-test.
At no point does one man talk to another in this movie.

This movie do not pass the test. Ventress and Lena they do talk about Kane at some point. Also Lena talk with Cass about her husband too.

I think the conversation about Kane only served as a deconstruction of the romantic notion of male/female relationships. Then it was brushed past, downgraded to biological processes. The conversation then recentered around the scientific nature of the mission. Solid pass.

@1010: the test doesn't say "at least two [named] women who ONLY talk to each other about something other than a man". It just has to be one or more conversation, at some point during the movie.

Easy pass.

1010, the test doesn't say ALL the conversations have to pass the test, just that at least one in the movie does.

technically the movie contained one conversation between men-- kane and other kane(?). However it's debatable if they both count as "named", and the conversation partly involves a woman ("Find Lena" "I will"), do it still didn't play the reverse test
