Although there are very few female characters in this movie and they don't get a lot of screen time together, the two main female characters (Delores and Jackie) are portrayed as intelligent, interesting feminists and are regarded as such by their male significant others.

Delores and Jackie have one conversation with each other that lasts for a few minutes. Delores is a hairstylist and is doing Jackie's hair. They are speaking Spanish with each other and Dolores asks Jackie why she knows Spanish. Jackie explains that she was studying dance in Barcelona. They talk about Barcelona a little bit, and Dolores asks if Jackie saw Gaudi's Segrada Familia. She says she did, but she was hung over at the time. Then they talk about the feeling you get when you're up high and you get the urge to jump; Dolores says that some consider that the true meaning of the word vertigo. Their conversation is interrupted by one of the movie's villains throwing something through the front window of the salon.
