While the exchanges may be brief, there are multiple instances of named female characters talking to one another without bringing up a male.
Early on, Ellen Brody (Lorraine Gary) and Mrs. Taft (Fritzi Jane Courtney, reprising her role from Jaws and Jaws 2) discuss why Ellen gets to leave work early ("Because my desk is closer to the door!")
Ellen also has multiple conversations with her granddaughter, Thea (Judith Barsi), most notably while building a sandcastle together on the beach. The conversation is entirely about the size and scope of the sandcastle.
There's also an earlier scene in which Ellen demands Thea come in off a tire swing over the ocean and Thea argues with both Ellen and Carla (Karen Young) about it.
Ellen and Carla briefly discuss whether or not its safe for Thea to go out on a banana boat. Carla assures Ellen that it is.
Later in the film, Louisa (Lynn Whitfield) has a conversation with Thea about her Christmas gifts.
