Bechdel Test Movie List

No-brainer, really. Film revolves around two women and their blossoming relationship, including many a conversation about each other's occupation, interests, values and personal lives.

Wonderful (Bechdel-passing, of course) film. I might add that I'm pretty sure it fails the reverse Bechdel, in that no two men I believe ever even talk to each unless it's about Carol. There's the group of friends hanging out at the bar with Therese, so I dunno if group conversations would count.

Agreed, of course. Just to add in, I also considered the reverse Bechdel here. I think it might squeak by on the merit of the bar conversation, where Therese's boyfriend Richard talks to the man who works at the newspaper (whose name eludes me, though it is mentioned in the film). Therese is present but not part of the exchange; I don't think that's an issue. As an aside, anyhow.

if this film fails the test,i`ll say this world is over...

One of my favorites, and I'm not just saying that because I'm an extra in it (that's the back of my head in the booth behind Rooney Mara when Therese and Carol first have lunch together). It was a groundbreaking novel and the movie does it full justice.
