Bechdel Test Movie List

Mute film, so it's an inevitable fail. Worth noting that it features an interaction between the female mutt and a lady bus-driver at the end (meaning that if the movie weren't mute, it would likely pass).

There is no dialogue, but there are at least two female-looking animals and a human woman who are relevant. The "named" rule does not apply to this movie (I'm not used to the cartoon, but Wikipedia and IMDb say there are characters named Shirley, Hazel and Meryl - I have no idea who is who), and therefore the movie should pass the first test.

The "talk to each other" rule must be relativized, and the penultimate scene is a sweet interaction between the female-looking dog and the human woman. It's brief, but I believe it's enough. "Shaun the Sheep" passes the Bechdel Test.

This film has no dialogue therefore making it impossible for Shaun The Sheep to pass, there is a brief interaction between a female dog, and a woman bus driver, which considering the film is silent should be enough to pass.

Under the strict rules of the Bechdel test the movie doesn't pass. Personally, I would be inclined to argue that a conversation only needs to be an informal exchange of information and/or ideas. But according to most dictionaries (including the Oxford English Dictionary) talking/speech is seemingly a key aspect of the word ‘conversation’.

I would say the talking between sheep should count, as it's a language. And all the named sheep (except Shaun and Timmy) appear to be female.
