This movie has quite a few female characters with names, the leading lady Lanie Kerrigan (Angelina Jolie), her best friend and co-worker, Andrea (Melissa Errico), Lanie's sister Gwen (Lisa Thornhill) and Deborah Connors (Stockard Channing) are the most prominent. Lanie and Andrea have a couple of conversations about work, health (a.k.a. dieting) and occasionally men, Lanie and Gwen have a conversation about their upbringing and Lanie interviews Deborah Connors, unfortunately about men and sacrifising love for your career. But, lo and behold, there is a female doctor, who's not a gynecologist! And she discusses Lanie's health, although she's just called "Doctor".
