There are three named female characters, Ellen Jones, Mrs Warren (her neighbour), and aunt Clara. Clara is the aunt of George (Ellen's husband).

Clara talks to Mrs Warren, partly about Ellen (they are worried about her), and Mrs Warren tells Clara about a key to Ellen's house. Clara talks to Ellen about various things, including Clara leaving the Helpers guide, and Ellen expresses concern about Ellen's health. George is mentions, but is not the only subject.

Also, Mrs Warren says to Ellen that something seems to be wrong, and offers to help. George is briefly mentioned.
