This is a movie about Martha Gellhorn and Ernest Hemingway's relationship 1936-1945. There is one scene where Martha (Nichole Kidman) talks to Pauline Hemingway but the dialogue revolves around Ernest. Neverthless, Martha is one of the main protagonists of the movie, and in fact the story is told by her in retrospect from her old age. The movie focusses on her work as a war correspondent and her independent and determined character.
