There are at least five named female characters who have speaking roles (Lorelei, Sand Saref, Dr. Ellen Dolan, Silken Floss, Plaster of Paris). In the final showdown, two prominent female characters (Sand Saref and Silken Floss) do talk to each other, but it is about a man (The Octopus).
