There are several important characters:
1- The old girlfriend called Marta who has two jobs to pay her mortgage and only wants casual sex.
2- Esmeralda, the prostitute who wants to quit her job.
3- Mercedes, Cundo's mother, who has problems in her marriage, who is terrified of her own son, who is so disastified with her own life so far.
4- the other ex-girlfriend, Rosa, who now wants to be a mother, and at the same time, longs for more passion in her life.
All these female characters talk about other things besides a man, but they talk to men. Marta talks about her two dead-end jobs and her mortgage to Cundo; she also talks about her own past and the tower.
Mercedes is angry about the isolation mothers feel, with ungrateful children.
