Men are an occasional topic for the female characters of the film. However, this is not the focus of all conversations of the film or the main plot. Katie (the protagonist) talks to her mother Rebecca and Ella Mae about Katie's life, unhappiness, her real mother and who she is. In addition, Rebecca talks to Laura about Katie and Laura and her assistant Jessica talk about Rebecca.
