An examination of misogyny spanning from medieval Europe to 'Modern' western society that feels rather ahead of its time.

Surprisingly progressive, save for the very end, in which it explains via title-cards that women suffer from hysteria, not witchcraft. So yes, there is still something wrong with women, but it's not their fault, it's their physiology.

To give more details on why this passes:

In one segment two named "local witches" talk about their craft. They also talk to a young woman about her problems and offer her magical solutions.

A few named girls in another scene laugh at an old woman (also named) for being old and ugly. They wrongfully accuse her of being a witch just to get rid of her. Once captured a named nun as well as several named monks/priests try to make the old woman confess to being a witch.
