Bechdel Test Movie List

The women teachers (McGonagall, Umbridge and Trelawney) talk to each other about their careers and teaching in general.

In the news recently, they have been talking about this test and how Denmark theaters are starting to use it. This is wonderful! Also in the news, there were many articles about how the Harry Potter moves didn't pass the Bechdel test.

Simone, you can't challenge the movie just because you heard on TV that ALL the Harry Potter movies fail the test. Only two of them actual fail, even by the most strict interpretations of the test. Order of the Phoenix clearly passes the test due to the aforementioned conversations between Hogwarts teachers.

The Umbridge, Mcgonagall and Trelawney thing, yes. When Umbridge is going around testing the teachers she asks Trelawney to make a prediction for her. They have a conversation there.
Umbridge also almost gets her sacked, Trelawney pleads with her before Dumbledore puts a stop to it.
Also when Mcgonagall confronts Umbridge on the staircase about her methods.

With the students there's a brief part I can think of:
[on the carriages]
Hermione: [to Luna] interesting necklace
Luna: it's a charm, actually. [leans forward] Keeps away the nargles.

It's a shame that that's the only part with the students that I can think of but this movie definitely passes.

There is also a short exchange during Defense Against the Dark Arts class when Hermione asks about practicing spells and Professor Umbridge explains they will only learn about spells theoretically.
