Bechdel Test Movie List

Although the movie falls short in Bechdel qualifications, it's worth noting that the film has an extremely limited amount of dialogue -- the female lead only speaks once and the male lead never speaks at all -- and character interaction is very limited.

Not on is this one of my favorite movies, it's a great movie for illustrating the point of the Bechdel test (i.e., that it's there to critique the film industry as a whole, not individual movies).

This movie has no named characters and no conversations, and that's part of its charm.

The fact that movies like this one are NOT the only kinds that fail the test is why the test is so useful. If women weren't grossly underrepresented, then you would have to turn to movies like this one (that would fail a "reverse" test, as well) in order to find something that doesn't pass.
