Bechdel Test Movie List

Cutlass Liz and Queen Victoria are named female characters. "Surprisingly Curvaceous Pirate" I'm more dubious on.

To be fair, none of the pirate crew have names. There's also Jane Austen. I don't think any of them ever talk to each other, sadly, since I really thought this film was fantastic.

The three women in the film are:
Cutlass Liz, who has but two or three lines and her entire character is "Sexy, vain, and mean."
Queen Victoria, who is a shallow classist.
And the Surprisingly Curvaceous Pirate, whose entire character is that of pretending to be a man the whole movie so that she can run alongside the rest of the pirates without being discriminated against or presumably raped on the violent and male dominated high seas.
But otherwise, yes it is actually kind of a charming film.

Can't the Surprisingly Curvaceous Pirate be dressed like a woman just because it's really funny to see the other pirates being so clueless about it? This is a children's comedy, after all. Not everything has to have a dimension of feminism to it.
