Just about scrapes through, although it's really one of those efforts where you end up wishing they hadn't bothered.

The three 'chipettes' are pretty indistinguishable from one another, and conform to the cliched casting of 'the pretty one', 'the brainy one' and 'the fat one', with little personality beyond these tropes.

There is minimal dialogue between them, and when there is girl/girl dialogue, they never actually face each other but look at the camera.

There is, however, a female bad guy, 'Zoe' who interacts with Jeanette (chipette), so the film passes.

David Starner disagreed with the rating and said:
There's an scene at the start where the Chipettes go dancing and get in a spat with some fellow female dancers, with no mention of any men. When the Chipettes decided to go dancing, that was a conversation among named female characters with no mention of men.

Character-wise, the Chipettes are designed to be mirrors of the Chipmunks, and I don't see the male characters getting much more distinction then the female characters. It did make Eleanor the creator of the dresses, and implied that she would have been the creator of other things had she not been on crutches.

To be specific:
Brittany: I say we go to Salsa Night!
Jeanette: In our pajamas?
Eleanor: Oh, I know!

Later:
Brittany: Ellie, I love these dresses!
Jeanette: You're so crafty.
Eleanor: Thanks, it's what I do.
(At which point the Chipettes get into an argument with nameless but female human dancers, wherein both Eleanor and Brittany have lines.)
