This series absolutely passes. The relationship between the teenage Violet and her mother, Vivien, is an integral part of the show, and the two interact frequently on a basis which does not involve Ben at all.
In addition, Violet occasionally talks to her female frenemy/sister in haunting, Leah, about what it is like to have seen inhuman ghosts and monsters face-to-face.

Either way, I think it does pass as they are many strong female characters who converse with one each other. Does the baby count? Because Vivien discusses her baby with some of the characters at times too, without mentioning Ben.
