Right at the beginning of the movie the babysitter and the little girl she is babysitting have a conversation that is not about men.

The mother and the babysitter have a conversation about her daughter not eating broccoli in the beginning.

Agree with Andrea. Also, one must ask the question, do the men talk about anything other than women or sex? LOL.

I agree with the rating -- the two conversations mentioned here are hardly conversations -- the mother tells the babysitter about the broccoli and the babysitter replies with an essentially one-word comment. I would count the daughter as an unnamed character -- she has very few lines in the film and none are significant.

Regarding the men -- yes they do. There's a long sequence in which Steve Carrell and Ryan Gosling discuss masculinity. While this aims toward romance, it's also about 'what it means to be a man.'

Gosh, it's a really simple test, are there more than two female characters who have names that talk to each other about something other than men. It's not about the depth or length of the conversation. Just an exchange of two words.

I agree with Alexis.
And the little girl do has a name (Molly) and a nickname (Cutey).

Once the babysitter (Jessica) and her mother (Claire) are yelling about that Jessica can or can't take the car keys of Claire.

Plus there's a conversation right at the start where Emma Stone's character Hannah is told by her friend Liz that she's to PG-13. This is then interrupted by Ryan Gosling, but it counts.

I've updated the rating from 2/3 to 3/3.

2/3 for sure. I feel very bad if this is a 3/3.

But the conversations between women are about:
- men, over and over again.
- broccoli, oh so briefly.
