A lovely movie that squeaks by with the barest of margins. It has two female characters, one of whom speaks essentially no English and thus has virtually no lines. However, that character, Bam Bam, and Rachel Weisz's character, Penelope are shown interacting frequently in the form of Penelope's character learning about explosives, and the fact that Bam Bam giving Penelope her cell phone number (which she has not given any of the male characters) is a major plot point. It passes in spirit, I would say, if marginally by the letter of the law.

The two women are named, but Bang Bang does not ever speak out loud to Penelope. Bang Bang's sole words in the film are "Campari," to a male bartender, and "fuck me," to herself (but in the presence of the Blooms) when something goes wrong. She also sings karaoke. She clearly communicates with Penelope nonverbally, however. One teaches the other about pinhole cameras, then explosives. Bang Bang also makes the "call me" sign to Penelope.
