Bess and Nastasia are one of four pairs of slacker clerks who are supposed to count discount furniture but who are mostly caught up in their particular foibles. The two discuss many things, including whether God exists, whether it's "Ukraine" or "The Ukraine," and their opinions about their boss (also female). The topic of men does come up in the course of the film, but most scenes between them focus on their own (highly mismatched) worldviews and goals, and, eventually, their secrets.
