Although this movie doesn't fully pass the Bechdel test, it is an intense, bizarre trip of a western that defies many conventions of the western genre, namely in that the two leads are women and the men (even the eponymous star) are largely supporting players. All of their interactions involve men in some way (one woman's brother is killed), but the movie is widely acknowledged as one of the great movies with "pre-feminist" themes.
