The only named female characters are Uhura and Saavik. They never speak. Theres also the vulcan priestess who only speaks to men, and the waitress who only speaks to Bones, a smuggler woman who somehow is surrounded my just males. Rand makes an appearance but she has no lines.
In the 80's Star Trek films the Klingons are still fairly sexist. You pretty much only see male Klingons doing anything.
In the TNG series the Klingons have a lot more women, and with lines.
