Fail. Citizen Kane has several women in it, but they never talk to each other.

While I consider this to be one of the most important, interesting, intrepid and entertaining movies ever made, it also fails the test. Or maybe the test fails it.

There was one very brief verbal interaction between two women, about a man.

This movie passes the first two tests. While indeed there are three key named female characters in this movie (Kane's mother and Kane's two wives), as TeeSee says, none of these three women speak to each other. However, there is a scene where Kane's second wife, Susan is packing up to leave him. He walks into her bedroom. Susan addresses the maid, Marie saying, "Tell Arnold I'm ready, Marie, tell him he can get the bags." Marie says, "Yes, Madam" and leaves the room. So this is two named female characters talking to each other. However, technically they are talking about a man (Arnold), though really the conversation is about Susan's readiness to leave the house and to leave Kane (another man).
