About a lesbian couple whose kids contact their sperm donor. While there's a lot of (some feminist reviewers have argued too much) focus on the male sperm donor character, the main female characters have several conversations that have nothing to do with men with each other and with their daughter, as well as one with a female friend.

In a book I've read (brownie points to whomever recognizes it), a man (who loves children) falls into a rut of depression, shares his recent history with the main character, which comes down to a girlfriend of his having an abortion without talking to him first.
He asks the main character, "Why did she kill my baby?"
