In The Wedding Banquet, the main character, Wei Tong, is a gay Taiwanese American who marries his tenant (she needs a green card) to appease his parents. Unfortunately for him, his parents fly over to attend the wedding. Eventually, the secret's out.
In the fallout, the "wife", Wei Wei, has a conversation with the main character's mother. While they begin by discussing Wei Tong as a child, the discussion quickly develops into a debate on womanhood. Wei Wei tells her mother-in-law that she has her life and aspirations to think about. Her mother-in-law only says with ancient patience that she is too young to understand.
Aside from matching the Bechdel test in letter, I also feel that it very well passes in spirit, as the conversation concerns Western feminism vs old Asian family roles.
