There are only three scenes in this movie that involve two named women interacting. Predictably, the first scene has two women talking about boys they like, and which ones they'll be taking to the dance. One of the women, Gretchen, briefly discusses the dress she'll wear, but immediately brings up that it's meant to impress a man. The second scene with named female characters does revolve around a topic aside from men... *almost.* In the scene, Sarah and Gretchen have just found the dead body of Gretchen's boyfriend. While Sarah tries to talk to Gretchen about getting out of the mine and surviving, Gretchen does not respond in a way other than (paraphrasing here) "No! I won't leave him! Don't touch him!," etc. Therefore, since one of the women is still concerned about a man, this scene does not count. And finally, Sarah and Gretchen are once again left alone while the male lead runs off to find a safe way out of the mine. Again, Sarah provides directions for Gretchen, trying to lead the way in getting the two to safety, but Gretchen doesn't say a single word in response, meaning they technically didn't talk to each other, and the scene does not count.
